Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
Data privacy is central to this mission. As part of our Privacy team, you’ll ensure that personal data is handled responsibly, securely, and in compliance with global regulations - helping us maintain the confidence of members, partners, and stakeholders across the world.
As Senior Privacy Manager / Deputy DPO, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding RICS’s global data protection strategy. Acting as a trusted advisor and deputy to the Global Head of Privacy / Data Protection Officer, you’ll lead on compliance, risk management, and governance, ensuring we meet the highest standards under GDPR, DPA, PECR, and other international regimes.
This is a hybrid role, requiring flexibility to spend approximately 60% of your time in the office and 40% working remotely.
This is a senior role with real impact, combining strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.
You’ll influence policy, guide stakeholders, and champion best practice across the organisation, fostering a culture where privacy and data protection are integral to everything we do.
Key Responsibilities
• Deputise for the Global Head of Privacy / DPO where required.
• Drive continuous improvement of our global privacy framework and monitor adherence.
• Support marketing by offering risk-based guidance regarding PECR compliance
• Advise on compliance with GDPR, DPA and other global data protection laws.
• Lead development and implementation of global privacy policies, standards, and guidance.
• Act as a point of contact for data subjects and manage DSARs and erasure requests.
• Oversee investigations into data breaches and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
• Review and advise on contractual clauses, SCCs, and risk assessments.
• Deliver training and coach colleagues to embed privacy best practice.
• Support high-risk and commercially sensitive matters requiring privacy expertise.
• Maintain strong relationships with supervisory authorities and internal stakeholders.
About You
You’ll be an experienced privacy professional with deep knowledge of data protection laws and a proven ability to influence at a senior level. You combine strategic thinking with practical delivery and thrive in a global, fast-paced environment.
• Expert knowledge of GDPR, DPA, PECR and ideally other international regimes.
• Significant experience in a senior privacy role or as Deputy DPO.
• Track record of implementing privacy frameworks and driving cultural change.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
• Professional privacy qualification (CIPP/E, CIPM, ISEB) preferred.
