Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and well-connected Business Development Lead to drive growth across the UK and US markets. The ideal candidate will have strong existing relationships within the startup ecosystem, including founders, accounting and professional services firms, and investors. This role will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence in key geographies.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across the UK and US markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with startups, founders, accounting firms, advisory firms, and investors
Leverage existing professional networks to generate high-quality leads and partnerships
Represent the company at industry events, networking forums, startup accelerators, and investor meetings
Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives
Collaborate closely with internal teams including finance, marketing, and leadership to convert opportunities into long-term clients
Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report regularly on performance metrics
Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and ecosystem developments in both geographies
Required Experience and Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or a related role
Proven experience working within the startup ecosystem
Strong existing network across startups, accounting firms, professional services firms, and investors in the UK and/or US
Demonstrated ability to originate and close deals independently
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
Strong understanding of early-stage and growth-stage businesses
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with consulting, accounting, finance, or advisory services
Exposure to venture capital, private equity, or startup accelerators
Experience selling B2B services in international markets
