Senior Product Analyst – Buyer Analytics (m/f/d)

About the Role
We are looking for a Product analyst for a client in the e-commerce industry.
As a Senior Product Analyst, you will join the Buyer Analytics team and serve as a strategic analytics partner to product teams. You will influence product decisions through rigorous data analysis, build scalable self-service analytics solutions, and generate insights that enhance the Buyer Journey and overall product performance. This role is based in Toronto and offered as an 11-month contract.
What You’ll Do
Data-Driven Product Development
Act as a trusted analytical partner to product teams, ensuring product decisions and development processes are grounded in high-quality data.
Contribute as a core member of the Buyer Analytics team, supporting product strategy through insight-led analysis.
Deep Customer Understanding
Develop a strong understanding of users and products, with a particular focus on the Buyer Journey.
Analyze how buyers arrive on the platform, navigate product flows, engage with features, and ultimately convert.
Data Enablement & Self-Service Analytics
Design and build self-service analytics solutions, including dashboards, data models, and metric frameworks.
Evaluate and implement modern analytics technologies, including GenAI use cases, to provide scalable and reliable access to insights.
Partner closely with product teams to improve data literacy and empower stakeholders to independently explore and interpret data.
Consultative Analytics & Insight Generation
Conduct analytical deep dives to answer business questions and identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations that inform product and business decisions.
Collaboration & Data Quality
Work cross-functionally with engineering, tracking, and data platform teams to ensure accurate event instrumentation and reliable data pipelines.
Align on metric definitions, maintain documentation, and contribute to a shared understanding of core KPIs across teams.
Experimentation & Optimization
Support experimentation initiatives by designing A/B tests, defining hypotheses, ensuring statistical rigor, and interpreting results.
Use experiment outcomes to drive continuous product optimization and performance improvements.
What You Bring
A degree in economics, data science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, with several years of experience in analytics, customer insights, data science, or data-driven consulting.
Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to query large datasets and optimize queries for performance.
Experience using Python for data analysis and automation.
Strong data modeling skills and experience building efficient analytics pipelines for production or stakeholder-facing use cases.
Solid statistical knowledge, including A/B test design, execution, and evaluation.
Familiarity with Google Analytics and event tracking implementations is a plus.
Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, or similar BI platforms, including semantic modeling and automated reporting.
Experience with cloud-based data warehouses or lakes (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake) and analytics engineering tools such as dbt is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A proactive mindset, high motivation, and genuine enthusiasm for product and data analytics.
Fluency in English.
