About the role:

Forter is looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to develop and cultivate new products for fraud detection. More than in other groups, the engineering decisions made by Forter’s product group need to balance not only engineering factors, but also user experience, aesthetics, legal and financial considerations, and a general sense of what's most important.

The Platform Extensions team’s mission is to build seamless extensions to enable fast onboarding of merchants to Forter fraud solutions using popular eCommerce platforms. We strive to create “one-click” experiences and allow our merchants to onboard and start using Forter’s products almost immediately. Our platforms include but are not limited to Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and Shopify.

What you’ll be doing:

Design high-scale and low-latency components to support Forter’s growth
Develop robust extensions that will be used by Forter’s largest clients, allowing them to seamlessly start using new Forter products
Improve our current architecture and components to allow faster onboarding of merchants
Research significant eCommerce platforms in order to create and improve our merchant’s experience with Forter
Work closely with Product, Design, Customer-facing teams, and partner Engineering groups.
Turn ambiguous problems into clear execution plans and ensure alignment with customer and business goals.
Shape shared standards and platform best practices. Guide other teams on backend services, data integration patterns, portal development approaches, and AI-enabled workflows.
Mentor and elevate engineers across the CX group. Promote engineering excellence, share knowledge openly, and help teams adopt effective modern development practices.
Own delivery of high-impact initiatives. Contribute hands-on when needed, remove blockers, maintain execution momentum, and drive projects from concept to production.

What you’ll need:

6+ years of hands-on experience throughout the web development stack and/or backend stacks.
Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, GraphQL, and other web technologies for building web apps and APIs.
Expertise in server-side development using NodeJS, ORMs, and relational databases.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large-scale environment with multiple modern programming and database querying languages.
Proven communication skills.
Self-driven and solutions-oriented, able to collaborate cross-team in a globally distributed organization.

Would be cool if you have:

Experience with building low-latency web applications.
A deep understanding of the eCommerce Platforms domain.
Experience in building cartridges for platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, Magento or Commercetools.
Seen or designed high-scale, robust architectures that process multiple tenants.
