Position: Senior Programmer Analyst (Data Engineer/Architect) 

Location: Richmond Virginia 23219 (Hybrid, 1 week office, 1 week remote)

Required Skills

• Excellent communication skills is an absolute must for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of Data warehousing (Dimensional Modeling, ETL etc.) and RDBMS concepts

• Minimum 5 years working experience with an ETL tool such as Talend, Informatica, etc.

• Minimum 5 years working experience in SQL, Stored Procedures and Table Design

• Minimum 5 years working experience in SQL Query optimization and ETL Data loading Performance

• Experience in Snowflake Cloud Data warehouse is strongly preferred.

• Experience in shell scripting is preferred

• Experience in real time streaming technologies is preferred

• Experience deploying machine learning models and automating processes in production is a plus

• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) is big plus.

• Knowledge on Denodo tool is a plus.

• Knowledge of any Data Governance and Data Quality tool is a plus.

High Level Project Overview/Responsiblities:

As a core member of team of Data Engineers/ETL Developers, responsibilities include but not limited to

• Define the data architecture vision aligned with business goals.

• Establish data standards, policies, and governance frameworks.

• Provide technical guidance to development teams.

• Communicate data architecture decisions to executives and non-technical teams.

• Design, Develop and maintain secure, consistent and reliable ETL solutions supporting critical business processes across the various Business Units.

• Develop and perform tests and validate data flows and prepare ETL processes to meet complex business requirements, including designing and implementing of complex end-to-end solutions using BI platforms.

• Partner with various infrastructure teams, application teams, and architects to generate process designs and complex transformations to various data elements to provide the Business with insights into their business processes.

• Assist production support team in providing resolutions to production job failures, data issues and performance tuning.

Required Years of Experience:

• 5+ Years of experience hands on as a Data Engineer/Architect

• Minimum 5 years working experience with an ETL tool such as Talend, Informatica, etc.

• Minimum 5 years working experience in SQL, Stored Procedures and Table Design

• Minimum 5 years working experience in SQL Query optimization and ETL Data loading Performance

Education:

• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalency (Required)

Are there any specific companies/industries youd like to see in the candidates experience?

• Experience in information Technology, a business/technology consulting firm, or a utility business group.

• IT experience in a large-scale environment, across multiple hardware and software platforms, or business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of large-scale systems.
