Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of patients with rare neurological disorders? As a Regional Account Manager (RAM) in Neurology, reporting to the Franchise Lead, you will play a pivotal role in raising awareness about Generalized Myasthenia Gravis (gMG) and Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD). These conditions demand accurate diagnosis and treatment, and your mission will be to ensure healthcare professionals are equipped with the knowledge they need. Your role will involve setting up solid customer connections, crafting referral networks, and achieving strategic account strategies to meet business goals. Your collaboration with internal teams and understanding of customer needs will be essential in driving success.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong in-depth disease, diagnostic and product knowledge leading to effective education of, and a call to action for, for key customers in Western Ontario and Alberta.
Develop insights-based key account plans for all top accounts/treatment centres. Account plans include key decision maker prioritization and in-depth situational analysis i.e. SWOC, barriers and drivers, patient journey, budgeting.
Collaborate cross-functionally to drive the best patient outcomes.
Provide a high level of customer service to all key stakeholders.
Appropriately apply all marketing tools and implement local promotional activities and programs, including regional congress opportunities.
Self-dependent planning, organization, and execution of local and multiple digital activities for efficient customer experience and engagement.
Consistently achieve or exceed sales objectives in assigned territory.
Admin
Develop, present, and uphold meticulously crafted strategic account strategies that showcase a detailed understanding of regional market dynamics influencing product sales.
Track activities and submit reports on sales activities accurately & on time.
Consistently complete assigned training in a timely manner.
Efficiently manage time, Customer Relationship Management tool, resources, and workload.
Consistently ensure that all compliance requirements are met.
Collaboration
Lead development and implementation of customer-focused and patient-centered tactics and activities within the territory in cross-functional partnership with internal collaborators and teams, such as Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Patient Advocacy, to address challenges in the market to help more patients.
Proactively interact with the internal cross-functional team to improve resources for their territory.
Collaborate with Marketing, Diagnostics, Access and Medical to find opportunities and develop Plan of Actions.
The RAM will align with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Alexion activities in general and this role.
Other responsibilities that are requested from time to time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BSc is preferable) with a minimum of 5+ years field-based sales experience (rare disease biotechnology environment preferred).
Documented track record for consistently delivering exceptional sales results.
Proven track record to gain consistent access & develop strong, professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers in community and academic centers.
Proven capacity to operate efficiently both autonomously and within a collaborative, team-based setting consistently.
Relevant market knowledge preferred.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
Influential presentation style with demonstrated ability to uncover and address customer needs and effectively handle customer concerns and questions.
Self-motivated with a sense of urgency, well-organized, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Ability to establish rapport and form relationships with a diverse customer base.
Strong intuition for business, with analytical and clinical foresight. .
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to travel within territory on a regular basis which will include frequent overnight and weekend travel.
Desired Qualifications/Skills
Advanced Degrees preferred.
Bilingual (English/French) an asset.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from $123,884.80 to $162,598.80. AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues.
