Responsibilities

Hiring a graduate student to support the principal investigator in implementing the BUILD program.

Responsibilities Include

Assisting the PI with instructional-design and curriculum-development tasks aligned to Research Administration and Research Development (RARD) competencies
Contributing to e-portfolio design and rubric development that assess research-administration skills
Supporting mentor orientation and training to expand pathways into research administration
Helping pilot and evaluate the RARD course; and
Tutoring and peer support for undergraduates (answering questions on deadlines, electronic portfolio requirements, and utilizing OER)
Candidates should have strong communication skills, familiarity with OER and e-portfolios, and experience or interest in undergraduate research pedagogy or workforce development; the ideal candidate is a doctoral student in education

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in education, instructional design, higher education administration, educational technology, or a closely related field. Doctoral student strongly preferred. Minimum one year in higher-education teaching, tutoring, instructional design, advising, or student support.

Technical Skills

Experience with e-portfolio creation, learning management systems as an instructor, accessibility best practices, OER discovery and licensing (Creative Commons), Articulate 360 tools, Office suite, Google suite, rubric creation, and basic to intermediate Excel.

Soft Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities for tutoring undergraduates and collaborating with mentors; strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet grant timelines; attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude for curriculum development, e-portfolio assessment, and troubleshooting technical or student issues; adaptability and a willingness to learn new tools and methods; cultural humility and professionalism when working with students from varied backgrounds and institutional partners; and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Industry Knowledge

The student should understand e-portfolio use for assessment and credentialing, instructional-design principles, competency-aligned curriculum development, locating OER, and workforce preparation concepts. Openness to learning RARD-specific content and collaborating with the PI and stakeholders to translate domain knowledge into undergraduate curriculum and related materials is essential.
