A Day in the Life

The Director of Quote-to-Contract Operations will be responsible for defining and building a quote to contract process and function for Surgical Robotics. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role that combines strategic design with hands-on execution. The role will develop the overall quote to contract strategy, establish roadmaps and governance processes, and directly execute the contract redlining process, including reviewing, facilitating negotiation and ensuring internal stakeholders response in a timely manner.

This role oversees the deal structure, quote and contracting processes, and associated field facing enablement programs that ensure our sales organization operates with accuracy, speed, and compliance. This role requires exceptional operational leadership, the ability to simplify complexity, and influence across a highly matrixed, capital intensive, innovation driven business.

Strategic Responsibilities

Design and implement a commercial QTC strategy and roadmap to support RST business goal achievement.
Build the foundation for a scalable quote (deal) and contracting function, including defining future roles, processes, and systems.
Establish governance policies for quoting, contracting alignment, and commercial processes leveraging technology, where possible.
Act as a change agent, driving adoption of best practices across the organization.
Lead and/or support cross‑functional initiatives that advance commercial processes, operational infrastructure, and business transformation efforts.

Operational & Execution Responsibilities

Lead/facilitate deal model/deal structure discussions between sales, finance, legal and leadership teams.
Lead the contract redline process for Hugo deals, acting as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Finance, Contract & Pricing, Marketing) and external customers.
Ensure timely contract execution and approval, balancing speed with risk mitigation.
Maintain contract templates and playbooks, updating them to reflect evolving business needs and compliance standards.
Manage and monitor the pipeline of deals between quote, contract and execution. Develop reporting KPIs, as needed to demonstrate status, risks, and achievement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Serve as the subject matter expert and quarterback for commercial contracting (manage and facilitate complex deal structures, non‑standard requests, and cross‑functional alignment needs) to ensure the most accurate and efficient process.
Collaborate with Marketing to understand pricing strategy and discount frameworks and escalation guidelines.
Collaborate with Contract and Pricing teams on and technology roadmaps and process alignment with the larger surgical organization.

Continuous Improvement & Technology

Drive continuous improvement to streamline processes and workflows and enhance data accuracy.
In collaboration with C&P teams, develop and deploy contracting tools and programs that improve field efficiency and reduce administrative burden.
Operate as the Robotics business owner of quoting and contracting systems through leading system and process enhancements in CPQ.
Influence larger commercial system design and optimization (Salesforce, CPQ, CLM, ERP touchpoints) in partnership with IT, Sales Operations and business stakeholders.

Training & Field Readiness

Build training and communication plans for new processes, systems, pricing programs, policies, and commercial guidelines.
Provide timely updates to the field on contract changes, performance issues, and customer‑impacting matters

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
