Google Cloud Architect – Global Tier Bank – Canary Wharf

Duration: 12 months (extendable upon renewal)

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Overview

A leading Global Tier 1 Investment Bank is seeking an experienced Google Cloud Architect to join their dynamic team in Canary Wharf. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure projects within a highly regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Drive best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance, including identity management, encryption, and organizational policies.
Participate in IAM governance and compliance audits.
Deliver secure-by-design solutions incorporating security in depth.
Collaborate in an Agile environment with a strong focus on feature delivery.

Essential Skills

Expertise in Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Kubernetes Engine).
Strong knowledge of Google Identity Access Management (OIDC Federation, Workload Identity Federation, role management).
Proficiency in Terraform, Python, and/or GoLang.
Understanding of Authentication & Authorization protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
Familiarity with serverless computing and event-driven architectures (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Preferred Skills

Experience with AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of SQL.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Google Cloud Platform Associate or Professional certification.
