Our firm was founded in 2015 as a division of The Regency Group and was tasked with diversifying the investment portfolio of its parent company. In 2019, Caloah was spun-off and rebranded as a standalone entity, independently managing its proprietary capital base and investment process. With that rebranding came a change in our purpose and motivation: Impacting Outcomes – serving our philanthropic partners, our investment and portfolio teams, and the stakeholders within our economic ecosystem.

CPE comprises three cross-functional teams – Investment Management, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Business Intelligence (BI) – in addition to portfolio companies and their associated teams that operate across Canada. The role of these three teams is to support the development and success of our portfolio of investments, to drive culture & strategy and lead decision-making.
While Caloah has historically maintained a practice borne from proprietary capital, our goal is to raise external capital and grow our asset base with the intent of advancing the aforementioned three strands. Despite the introduction of external capital, CPE will always abide by its core values and investment practices: the proprietary nature of our capital creates a distinct advantage that must be protected. As a result, any equity partners we accept must align with our value system.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Caloah is building a dedicated AI & Technology Strategy function to drive operational excellence and value creation across our investment management operations and portfolio companies. We are looking to hire an Analyst / Associate, AI & Technology Strategy as the foundational member of this new function. This role will report directly to the Vice President of AI and Technology Strategy and will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production-ready AI solutions that automate workflows, enhance decision-making, and unlock new insights across our business.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role suited for someone who wants to be at the intersection of private equity, technology, and AI innovation. The Analyst / Associate will have the opportunity to see the direct impact of their work on investment decisions and portfolio company performance, with significant room for growth as we expand our capabilities. As this function matures, there will be opportunities to extend these capabilities to our portfolio companies, working directly with their management teams to drive value through technology and AI-enabled solutions.
The Analyst / Associate will spend approximately 70% of their time on hands-on implementation and 30% on solution design and documentation. Initial focus will be on building and maintaining an internal AI tool and data platform for CPE's investment management operations.
Specific duties of the Analyst / Associate, AI & Technology Strategy will include the following:
Build and maintain production-ready AI solutions that automate data entry, streamline repetitive functions, and enhance analytical capabilities across CPE's investment operations, including tools for internal reporting, financial analysis, legal documentation management, and market research.
Implement automation and AI workflows to improve the speed and quality of financial modeling, FP&A analysis, and materials creation for new investment opportunities; work with financial statements, general ledgers, and portfolio company data to surface insights that drive better decision-making.
