Role Overview
Buchanan Technologies, (www.buchanan.com) , an IT consulting company is seeking a well-rounded IT professional to support and operate our client’s cloud, infrastructure, and security environments. This role requires not only strong technical capability, but also the ability to work effectively with people and established processes across the organization.
The ideal candidate is an intermediate-level engineer who is comfortable collaborating with infrastructure, security, endpoint, and application teams; communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders; and operating within structured IT service management processes. The role spans multiple technical domains—identity, endpoints, networking, and cloud—while providing continued opportunities to deepen expertise in infrastructure and security.
The position is primarily operational in nature, with regular exposure to project work, cross-team initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure
Support and maintain services in Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage).
Assist with hybrid connectivity between Azure and on-prem infrastructure.
Monitor system health, performance, and availability.
Tech Stack includes but not limited to Rapid7 (SIEM), Carbon Black (App Control), Palo Cortex (EDR), Palo Prisma (SASE), Varonis (Access Control & Monitoring)
Identity & Microsoft 365
Administer Microsoft Entra ID including user lifecycle, MFA, and Conditional Access.
Support Microsoft 365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive).
Assist with licensing, service health, and tenant administration.
Security & Compliance
Implement and operate security controls aligned with Zero Trust principles.
Support Microsoft Defender solutions for endpoint, identity, and cloud workloads.
Triage alerts, assist with investigations, and maintain audit logs.
Follow security baselines and compliance requirements.
Endpoint & Device Management
Manage endpoints using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.
Enforce device compliance, configuration profiles, and application deployment.
Troubleshoot device, access, and security issues.
Operations & Automation
Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes.
Perform structured troubleshooting and contribute to root-cause analysis.
Maintain clear documentation and operational runbooks.

Required Qualifications
Experience
2–5 years of experience in enterprise IT or cloud operations
Hands-on exposure to Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, and endpoint management
Foundational understanding of security and infrastructure concepts

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500)
