Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our customer in Falls Church, VA. The ideal candidate will assist the team with monitoring and controlling costs and schedules, performing financial analyses and preparing financial reports. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Conducts and documents financial analysis of areas as directed by management.
Assists with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, documentation and project control.
Evaluates and analyzes capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc.
Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses.
Documents revenues and expenditures and submits results to management. Advises management on matters, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
Interprets budgets to management.
Act as consultant to management on financial policies, procedures, and applications.
May provide functional and technical direction to other staff members in areas of cost/finance.
Originate purchase requests for contract services as needed.
Transfer/allocate funding as directed/needed.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
Client experience requirements: Between 0 to 6 years of relevant experience.
Client education requirements: BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a relevant field
4 years of additional equivalent experience can be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Experience in earned value management (EVM) financial reporting is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.
Preferred Requirements
An active Secret Security Clearance.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial forecasting.
Financial analysis experience in a government contracting or defense environment.
Proficiency in Excel and financial systems and tools such as Deltek Costpoint, SAP or similar systems.
