Title: Lead Network Security Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL
Type: Contract (Hybrid)
Pay: $55–65/hr W2
Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Lead Network Security Engineer to oversee and enhance enterprise and industrial network security in a hybrid environment. This role will lead network operations, cybersecurity initiatives, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure optimization while mentoring cross-functional technical teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on leadership position and is passionate about secure, scalable network design and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in network engineering and security
CCNA, CCNP R&S, or equivalent hands-on experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Strong expertise in TCP/IP network design, implementation, and support
Experience in network security architecture, firewall management, and access control provisioning
Background in network monitoring, management, remote access, and VPN solutions
Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity posture, system engineering processes, and infrastructure protection
Experience contributing to IT strategy development and portfolio management
Industrial network and SCADA systems experience (Rockwell Automation, Stratix switches) preferred
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
Responsibilities:
Lead maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of enterprise and industrial networks
Develop, implement, and continuously improve IT security strategy and policies
Manage firewall policy design, configuration, and optimization
Oversee network hardware implementation and configuration across Cisco, Meraki, and Dell environments
Conduct security testing, intrusion detection and prevention, and benchmarking of configurations
Monitor network performance, system alarms, and device health to proactively prevent downtime
Lead disaster recovery and backup initiatives, including cloud-based solutions
Design and support secure industrial control network environments
