Title: Operations Workstream Project Lead/Post-Trade Transformation Lead
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite now, should be prepared to go in 4 days eventually)
Duration: 10+ Months (Possible extension)
Role Summary
The Operations Workstream Project Lead is responsible for planning, orchestrating, and delivering all testing activities (SIT, E2E, Regression, UAT, Non-Functional, and Production Validation) across complex, Operations/Clearance & Settlements Workstreams. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Wealth Management Operations expertise and can translate operational controls and regulatory obligations into testable requirements, data validation rules, and executable scenarios. You will partner with Program/Project Managers, Product Owners, Operations leaders, Technology Leads, and external vendors to ensure high quality releases with zero defect tolerance for client assets, transactions, and regulatory reports.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Planning
Define end-to-end test strategy, scope, entrance/exit criteria, and Phase Definition of Done for SIT, E2E, Regression, UAT, NFT (performance, security, resilience), and Production Validation.
Test Design & Execution
Translate business/ops processes (e.g., account opening, ACAT transfers, corporate actions, trade capture, post-trade, reconciliation, fee billing, statements) into end-to-end test scenarios with control/exception paths.
Drive SIT/E2E execution across internal teams and vendors; set daily burn-down targets and defect SLAs.
Orchestrate UAT with Wealth Ops, Advisors, and Branch/Call Center users: scripting, training, test environment readiness, and sign-off.
Lead Regression suite creation and automation roadmap (UI, API, data checks); maintain evergreen packs across releases.
Coordinate Non-Functional Testing
Governance & Quality
Own defect management, triage, and root cause analysis; enforce severity definitions, SLAs, and trend reporting.
Maintain requirements traceability (business > functional > technical > tests > defects > closure).
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Partner with Program Management for release planning, go/no-go decisions, and cutover rehearsals.
Align with Operations leaders on control objectives and UAT acceptance; facilitate change management.
Required Qualifications
8–12+ years in testing/quality across complex financial systems; 5+ years in Wealth Management Operations (e.g., trading operations, reconciliations, corporate actions, fee billing, account servicing, Clearance & Settlements).
Past and proven experience working the Trade lifecycle Testing T+1 or CDS PTM in a reputable relevant bank
Past experience with projects involving depositories, Broadridge preferred.
Must have trade lifecycle understanding: back to front
Proven leadership delivering platform transformations or multi-system migrations
Knowledge of Wealth Ops processes:
Trade capture, allocation, post-trade processing, settlements
Corporate actions, dividends, splits, mandatory/voluntary events
Reconciliations (cash, positions, transactions), fee billing, performance
Hands-on with test tools and methods: Jira
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and vendor coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with major custodians (e.g., DTCC, CDCC, CDS, OCC, BNP, Euroclear), market data providers, and archival/reporting systems.
Exposure to service desk and controls tooling (ServiceNow/JIRA Service Management) and control room workflows.
Prior experience in data migration (account master, positions, transactions, KYC/AML profiles) with robust reconciliation and sign-off frameworks
