Role – Automation Test Lead with Selenium and Playwright Exp

Location – Toronto ON (Hybrid Onsite)

Duration – Contract Role

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced 9+ years in Automation Test Lead with strong expertise in Selenium and Playwright to lead end-to-end automation strategy, framework development, and execution across enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will drive automation best practices, mentor QA engineers, collaborate closely with developers and DevOps teams, and ensure high-quality software delivery through scalable and maintainable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Strategy & Leadership

Define and implement automation testing strategy across projects

Lead automation roadmap and tool selection decisions

Establish best practices for scalable, reusable automation frameworks

Mentor and guide automation engineers

Framework Development

Design and maintain automation frameworks using:

Selenium WebDriver

Playwright

Develop cross-browser and cross-platform automation solutions

Implement Page Object Model (POM) and other design patterns

Ensure framework stability, performance, and maintainability

Test Automation Implementation

Automate functional, regression, smoke, and integration test cases

Support API automation using REST Assured / Playwright API / similar tools

Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines

Maintain test scripts in Git-based repositories
