Our client is a venture-backed robotics startup building intelligent home robots designed for real-world deployment. The company is moving toward household beta deployments this year and is expanding its software platform team to accelerate ML development and iteration.

This is a high-ownership role building the internal systems that power robot learning: data pipelines, experiment tooling, evaluation frameworks, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll build and own the internal ML platform used by robotics ML engineers to:

Transform large-scale, multi-modal data (video + sensor streams) into structured, versioned training datasets
Run and compare large-scale experiments with reproducibility
Evaluate model performance against human ground truth
Diagnose model failures through intuitive visualization + review tooling
Accelerate the research → deployment feedback loop

Your “users” are ML engineers. Your product is their speed and clarity.

What Makes This Role Different

Direct collaboration with ML engineers and robotics teams

Ability to influence architecture from the ground up

What We’re Looking For

5+ years building production software systems with end-to-end ownership
Strong backend engineering (Python preferred; Node.js welcome)
Comfortable building pragmatic frontend tooling (React/TypeScript)
Experience with at least one of:
ML experiment tooling / observability
Data pipelines / ETL at scale
Internal developer platforms
Strong product instincts and ability to operate without detailed specs
