Job Title: Globalscape Server Administrator
Location: Vancouver
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
The Globalscape Server Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, security, and optimization of enterprise server environments supporting secure file transfer and Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security compliance across production and non-production systems.
Key Responsibilities
Globalscape / EFT Administration
Install, configure, and maintain Globalscape EFT and DMZ Gateway
Manage SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS protocols
Configure automation workflows, event rules, and triggers
Maintain High Availability (HA) and clustering environments (multi-tenant setups)
Monitor performance and troubleshoot file transfer issues
Perform site creation, modification, and deletion
Handle installation, upgrades, and configuration across clustered environments
Security & Compliance
Implement SSL/TLS, cipher suites, KEX algorithms, and certificate management
Harden servers in accordance with enterprise security standards
Perform vulnerability remediation activities
Support regulatory and compliance frameworks
Manage firewall rules and network security policies
Database & Storage
Write and optimize SQL queries
Integrate SAN/NAS storage with Globalscape environments
Configure and manage AWS S3 / Cloud Connector integrations
Monitoring & Performance
Utilize monitoring tools such as Datadog, Wireshark, and Splunk
Analyze TED logs and resolve incidents
Perform capacity planning and performance tuning
Automation & Scripting
Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, VB Scripting, and Batch scripting
Automate routine administrative tasks
Implement Web Services and REST API integrations
Support & Troubleshooting
Provide L2/L3 production support for Globalscape environments
Troubleshoot inbound/outbound file transfer issues and workflow/event rule failures
Coordinate with network, security, and site administration teams
Mandatory Skills
Extensive experience with Globalscape EFT & DMZ Gateway (installation, upgrades, configuration)
Experience managing multi-tenant HA clusters
Server and site administration
Automation development (Events/Workflows)
Strong scripting expertise (PowerShell, Python, VB, Batch)
Required Qualifications
Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPNs, Firewalls)
Experience with clustering and load balancing
SQL query proficiency
Windows and Linux administration knowledge
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent documentation skills
