Role: Contractor Project Manager (ITSX Team)
Location: Guildford, UK (Hybrid)
Type of Hiring: Contract
Job Description:
The Contractor Project Manager will lead and coordinate projects for the ITSX Team, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage resources, schedules, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Scope Management
• Define, control, and manage project boundaries to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations, budget, and timeline.
• Adapt to scope changes with clear communication and impact analysis.
2. Resource Management
• Plan, allocate, and optimize human, technical, and financial resources to meet project goals.
• Forecast, budget, and manage bandwidth across teams.
3. Time/Schedule Management
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including dependencies and resource constraints.
• Perform critical path analysis using tools such as Smartsheets or timeline spreadsheets.
4. Communication Management
• Create and execute communication plans.
• Lead project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder presentations.
• Maintain clear documentation and ensure transparency at all levels.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills preferably with Security domain knowledge (but not mandatory).
5. Risk Management
• Maintain a comprehensive project log (risks, assumptions, constraints, issues, lessons learned).
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks to maintain project momentum.
• Seeking a project manager with proven expertise in risk identification, schedule assessment, and proactive mitigation strategies.
• Must excel at diagnosing project health, recommending recovery actions, and escalating issues appropriately to ensure successful project delivery.
6. Integration Management
• Ensure seamless coordination across teams and systems.
• Drive project completion through leadership and stakeholder alignment.
• Balance trade-offs and unify project components into a cohesive whole.
7. Operational Readiness
• Ensure all components are prepared for go-live.
• Develop RACI charts, conduct knowledge transfer sessions, and ensure documentation readiness.
Qualifications (Suggested additions)
• Strong independent PM experience and collaborative working skills are required
• Experience in project management, preferably in IT or related fields.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets).
• Knowledge of Jaas/Jira.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements.
