Automation Tester

£40,000 - £45,000

Manchester - x2 a week
Our client, a major player in the gambling industry, is seeking an Automation Tester to join their expanding team. This hybrid role is based in central Manchester, requiring two days per week in the office.Responsibilities:

Analyse requirements to ensure a clear understanding of business and technical needs.
Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts to agreed standards.
Execute automated tests across web, API, and Back End systems.
Maintain and enhance the automation framework.
Perform both automated and exploratory manual testing where required.
Accurately log, track, and manage defects using Jira.
Create and maintain technical and testing documentation.
Support testing activities following software releases.
Contribute to automation strategy and planning for Sportsbook projects, working closely with senior testers and developers.
Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven commercial experience in automated software testing.
Strong experience with automation tools/frameworks (eg, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
Solid understanding of API testing tools (eg, Postman, RestAssured).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (eg, Jenkins, Git).
Ability to write clean, maintainable automation scripts in languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
Ability to work under pressure and meet release deadlines.
Experience working in environments with frequent software releases.
Ability to adapt to evolving requirements and priorities.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Proactive in learning new tools and technologies.
