2. About the Opportunity:

The Machine Learning Engineer II role supports cross-functional teams by designing and implementing machine learning solutions and contributing to the development of internal tools and best practices. This position is key to ensuring model performance, scalability, and integration into production environments. The role involves mentoring junior engineers and collaborating closely with data scientists to optimize workflows and maintain high standards across the machine learning lifecycle.

3. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers to integrate data science models into customer-facing solutions

• Enable and configure Google Cloud Platform services for model development

• Contribute to the development roadmap for data science and machine learning engineering tools

• Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems for model integrity and performance

• Develop reusable toolsets to standardize and streamline model implementations

• Mentor junior machine learning engineers and promote continuous learning

• Document and communicate throughout the data science lifecycle using iterative development

• Scale ETL workflows and models to meet production requirements

• Optimize models for performance and accuracy within resource constraints

• Stay current with Google Cloud Platform services and best practices for machine learning

• Perform additional assigned tasks

4. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field

• 3+ years of progressively complex data science or analytics experience

• 3+ years as a machine learning engineer with a record of successful project delivery

• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, especially Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Dataproc

• Expertise in CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code best practices

• Strong understanding of distributed computing and big data technologies such as Spark, Kubeflow, Airflow, and SQL

• Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn

• Experience with Agile/XP software development

• Familiarity with OGSM approach for strategy development and execution

Preferred:

• Master’s degree and/or Ph.D.

• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or other programming languages

• Experience in retail or e-commerce sectors

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
