Guided by our goal to ensure member / client satisfaction, Desjardins is seeking a Vice President, Marketing. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Member and Client Experience, Cooperation and Human Transformation. This leader will be responsible for defining, deploying, and evolving marketing expertise direction in order to strengthen the brand’s strategic positioning and support growth across Quebec and Canada.

The role requires an in‑depth understanding of the major trends shaping strategic marketing, including the evolution of technology and artificial intelligence (AI), climate‑related issues, and their impact on various business sectors.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evolving the marketing expertise plan and its portfolio of initiatives in a context of transformation and growth. They will ensure optimal alignment with the wealth management strategy, the Personal Services sector, the Business Services sector, and the governance bodies of the Desjardins Group.

They will also oversee the governance of the functions under their responsibility, ensure the continuous evolution of practices, support talent development, and monitor performance to increase the impact, coherence, and contribution of sector‑level marketing plans to organizational success.

Main Responsibilities:

Support the Executive Vice Presidency in developing and implementing the strategic directions of the Desjardins Group.
Develop sector‑specific marketing strategies and plans aligned with business ambitions, member/client needs, and market opportunities.
Create value through business analysis, advanced analytics, and data valorization to inform strategies, offerings, and overall performance.
Contribute to the development of insurance solutions (life & health and P&C) and support national product/market strategies, including home and auto pricing.
Develop and deploy national risk‑segmentation strategies to optimize targeting, pricing, and business outcomes.
Identify marketing and business opportunities beyond the sector marketing plan to accelerate goal achievement.
Orchestrate the execution of the sector marketing plan in collaboration with marketing partners, ensuring continuous performance monitoring and strategic adjustments.
Enhance the member/client experience by managing dissatisfaction and integrating insights into continuous improvement initiatives.
Advise internal partners, support their initiatives, and represent the organization with external stakeholders (e.g., IBC, GAA).
Develop and execute the division’s business plan, manage the budget, implement management practices that foster engagement, capability development, and succession planning, and embody Desjardins’ cooperative values

The main challenges of the position are:

Evolve the service offer and ways of working by creating synergies that support the strategic direction of the new business model.
Develop functions and support employee growth in an increasingly sophisticated and digitally driven marketing environment.
Establish or strengthen matrix management within teams to enable them to reach their full potential.
Ensure strong alignment and synergy with the Integration and Execution Vice Presidencies across sectors, as well as with other internal partners.
Lead the evolution of the brand, positioning, and communication strategies to support Canada‑wide growth.
Strengthen the impact of data, insights, and marketing technologies (martech) in decision‑making and in optimizing client journeys.

Position requirements:

Several years of experience in a management or executive leadership role in marketing, recognized within the insurance industry, with strong leadership capabilities including matrix management, coaching, and mentoring.
Ability to work with modern tools, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence.
Strong mastery of marketing in a sophisticated digital environment.
Advanced bilingualism required to interact with English‑ and French‑speaking partners, members, and clients.
Proven ability to execute, optimize, and lead transformation initiatives in complex and ambiguous contexts.
Ability to mobilize teams, enhance the client experience, simplify processes, and manage large‑scale projects
