Purpose of the Role::

The Senior Manager, Private Wealth Associates plays a pivotal leadership role in the Private Wealth team by guiding, developing, and managing a high-performing group of Wealth Planning Associates (WPAs) and related support roles. This role serves as both a people leader and strategic enabler—responsible for talent development, resource management, performance coaching, recruitment, and enhancing operational effectiveness across Advisor teams. The Senior Manager, Private Wealth Associates acts as the bridge between Associates and Advisors, ensuring a consistent, supportive, and developmental experience for team members and aligning talent with the business needs of the firm. 

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & People Development 

Provide high-touch leadership to a span of :15–20 Associates across levels (AA, WPI, WPA, SWPA). 
Conduct frequent 1:1s (weekly, biweekly, monthly based on tenure) focused on career development, performance coaching, and feedback. 
Partner with Advisors to ensure Associates are supported and progressing on their career path. 
Manage performance issues with discretion, EQ, and professionalism—often mediating between Associates and Advisors. 
Utilize tools like the WPA Workbook, Reflektiv, and Team Charters to guide individual and team growth. 

Talent & Resource Management 

Recruit and onboard Associates; continuously build a candidate pipeline through networking and partnerships with Talent Acquisition. 
Align Associate skillsets with Advisor needs through active resource planning and internal mobility oversight. 
Proactively identify performance risks or development gaps and implement interventions. 
Ensure appropriate staffing levels, succession planning, and transitions for high-performing or underperforming team members. 

Strategic & Operational Execution 

Partner closely with the Business Management team to ensure effective roll-out of Private Wealth strategic initiatives
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including NAT, CST, Client Operations, and Regional Office Services to drive operational efficiency and resolve bottlenecks. 
Participate in strategic planning discussions and implement team-level tactics to support broader business goals. 

Process Management & Continuous Improvement 

Standardize development practices and performance feedback loops. 
Maintain and improve career development tools (e.g., WPA Workbook, Joint Success docs) and contribute to the evolution of goal-setting frameworks. 
Lead or contribute to side projects related to training, office strategy, well-being initiatives, and more. 
Use internal systems such as SharePoint, Salesforce, and Dayforce to manage team operations and performance records. 
Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, ideally in the financial services industry in a client facing role
Background in Wealth Planning is highly valued (CFP, CIM, or equivalent) though not required
Familiarity with financial planning tools and CRM systems (Salesforce)
Experience managing professional, career-focused employees and working with senior stakeholders
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
History of delivering results in a high performing, service-oriented capacity
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer

Compensation & Benefits Package:

This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $100,000-$140,000, dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity.
