Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Developer to design and implement enterprise-grade data governance solutions using Atlan, Python, and Java. The ideal candidate will have strong experience operationalizing data governance frameworks, defining stewardship models, enhancing data quality and lineage processes, and improving AI/analytics tool interoperability. This role requires architectural expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive governance maturity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Framework Implementation

Operationalize enterprise Data Governance frameworks and update governance runbooks
Integrate Data & AI standards into governance processes
Define and implement data asset certification processes
Enhance governance structures and align domain/sub-domain models with access management
Formalize Data Owner, Data Steward, and Technical Owner roles (role definitions, enablement, and training)

Atlan & Data Observability

Configure and integrate Atlan across enterprise systems
Implement data lineage build-out and metadata management
Configure Monte Carlo for data quality monitoring and issue remediation workflows
Improve AI/analytics tool interoperability and prioritize integrations
Establish standardized access controls and permissions

Architecture & Development

Design and develop scalable architectural solutions using Atlan, Python, and Java
Analyze existing systems and recommend performance and scalability improvements
Implement best practices in software development and architecture
Conduct code reviews and technical audits
Develop comprehensive technical documentation and architecture designs

Collaboration & Leadership

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate governance solutions
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members
Engage stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Facilitate governance workshops and training sessions
Coordinate with project managers to align architectural strategies with timelines

Operations & Continuous Improvement

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
Drive initiatives to enhance system security and data protection
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends
Promote continuous improvement and governance maturity

Qualifications

12–16 years of professional experience in Data Governance and enterprise architecture
Strong hands-on expertise in Atlan, Python, and Java
Proven experience designing scalable and efficient architectural solutions
Experience implementing data certification, lineage, stewardship, and access governance models
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (certifications preferred)
