Role Title: DevOps Engineer - OpenShift CI/CD Automation

Duration: contract to run until 31/12/2026

Location: Sheffield, hybrid 3 days per week onsite

Rate: up to £495.88 p/d Umbrella inside IR35

Role Purpose / Summary

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployment on the bank's OpenShift platform. This role ensures seamless integration, efficient delivery, and compliance with security and regulatory standards across the enterprise.

Key Skills/ Requirements

Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications on OpenShift.
Integrate pipelines with source control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) and build tools.
Implement container image build, scanning, and deployment workflows.
Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery processes.
Optimize pipeline performance and reliability through automation and monitoring.
Manage pipeline configurations and troubleshoot build/deployment issues.
Ensure compliance with the bank's security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on DevOps best practices and emerging technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline design and automation using tools like Jenkins, Tekton, or GitLab CI.
Hands-on experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes deployment workflows.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and image registries.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Understanding of security best practices for DevOps and container environments.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
