DevOps Engineer, Service Delivery
Location: Tempe, Arizona
This role sits within a modern service delivery organization supporting large scale enterprise systems. The team focuses on building reliable, secure, and highly automated platforms that enable fast and safe delivery of software from development through production. You will work alongside engineers, architects, and business partners who value collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Role Overview
As a DevOps Engineer, you will design, build, and operate cloud and automation solutions that power mission critical business applications. Your work will directly influence release velocity, system stability, and operational excellence. This role blends hands on engineering with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to shape standards, mentor others, and drive meaningful change across the delivery lifecycle.
What You Will Do
DevOps and Automation
Design, maintain, and evolve automation frameworks supporting build, test, release, and monitoring workflows
Develop scripts and tooling to streamline deployment pipelines and infrastructure operations using PowerShell, shell scripting, XML, and JSON
Build and manage end to end CI and CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related services
Define and enforce source control practices, including branching strategies and quality gates
Cloud and Platform Engineering
Implement and operate Azure platform services such as application hosting, data services, identity and secrets management, and container platforms
Automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources using templates and scripting
Monitor performance, availability, and cost efficiency of cloud workloads and recommend improvements
Partner with teams to ensure cloud architectures are scalable, resilient, and secure
Project Leadership and Collaboration
Contribute to medium and large scale initiatives with clear ownership of delivery outcomes
Collaborate closely with application teams to improve deployment reliability and speed
Guide and mentor junior engineers, serving as a technical resource and escalation point
Help define DevOps standards, patterns, and best practices across teams
Operations and Support
Provide advanced support for complex production issues related to infrastructure and deployments
Monitor pipeline health and respond quickly to failures or incidents
Support audit, compliance, and reporting requirements related to deployments and access
Participate in on call rotations, including occasional evenings or weekends
Strategy and Continuous Improvement
Contribute to long term infrastructure and platform roadmaps
Evaluate emerging tools and technologies to improve reliability, security, and efficiency
Create and maintain clear documentation for systems, processes, and standards
Stay current with industry best practices through learning, research, and community engagement
What We Are Looking For
Five or more years of experience in DevOps, configuration management, or a closely related engineering role
Strong expertise building and maintaining CI and CD pipelines, especially with Azure DevOps
Advanced scripting skills using PowerShell and shell based tools
Hands on experience with source control systems and modern branching strategies
At least three years designing, deploying, and operating Azure platform services
Solid background supporting Windows based systems, including servers, databases, IIS, and scheduled services
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Azure focused certifications in administration or DevOps engineering
Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments
Comfort operating across development, infrastructure, and operations disciplines
