OpenShift Platform Engineer - Kubernetes Data Protection (NetBackup/Commvault) - 2-Year Programme - Remote - £425 PAYE
This will suit a solid OpenShiftcontractor with a strong infrastructure backbone who has moved into cloud native data protection' or a NetBackup/Commvaultspecialist that has evolved into Kubernetes platforms.
We're looking for a hands-on OpenShift Platform Engineer with deep Kubernetes infrastructure expertise and strong enterprise backup experience to join a large-scale transformation.
This is not a generic DevOps role as you'll be leading cloud-native data protection strategy across OpenShift clusters - protecting container workloads and OpenShift Virtualization VMs using Veritas NetBackup and Commvault.
If you've worked at the intersection of Kubernetes infrastructure and enterprise backup platforms, this long term contract role is for you!
To apply you should have the following skills and experience:
8-15 years infrastructure background
Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP)
Proven administration of NetBackup (10.x ideally) in Kubernetes environments
OR strong Commvault Kubernetes protection experience
Deep understanding of:
Kubernetes operators
CSI/PV/PVC lifecycle
Cluster-level RBAC
Virtual machine protection in OpenShift (KubeVirt/OpenShift Virtualization)
RHEL + Scripting (Python/Shell)
Nice to haves:
OADP/Velero experience
NetBackup Flex Appliances
Experience in highly regulated enterprise environments
March 2026 start | Initial contract to Nov 2026 (major 2 year programme) | Remote (UK) | very occasional travel to London/Sheffield/Birmingham
Deemed as inside IR35, ran on a PAYE basis (no Umbrella service costs or Employers NI reductions on rate).
