Title: Senior Process Consultant

Pay: $85-$90

Type: Hybrid in Bellevue WA

Duration: contract until 12/31/2027. Potential to extend until 3/1/2028

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Business Process Consultant to lead process improvement and transformation initiatives supporting Electric and Gas Operations. This role will focus on current-state assessment, future-state design, and stakeholder facilitation as part of a broader technology modernization effort replacing legacy systems (including SAP Work Manager).

This consultant will partner closely with IT project leadership, business sponsors, and operational stakeholders to reduce cycle time, improve efficiency, and leverage new system capabilities. This is a highly visible role requiring strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and Lean expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Assessment & Design

Lead current-state process assessments across Electric and Gas Operations (Meter Operations, Gas & Electric First Response, Corrosion Control, Pressure Control, Alternative Fuels, Instrumentation, Tool Repairs, etc.)
Facilitate workshops to define future-state processes aligned with new technology capabilities
Develop detailed process maps using Visio
Conduct pain point and cycle time analysis
Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cycle time reduction

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation

Facilitate large cross-functional workshops and stakeholder sessions
Manage stakeholder alignment across operations, IT, accounting, customer service, and construction services teams
Produce structured meeting documentation, action items, and decision tracking logs
Support business sponsors with change readiness conversations

Process Governance & Documentation

Develop RACI matrices and process ownership frameworks
Support benefits realization planning and KPI alignment
Contribute to business case inputs related to process improvements
Maintain structured reporting for leadership updates

Program Support

Collaborate with the IT Project Manager within a hybrid (Waterfall/Agile/phased) methodology environment
Support scope management related to process initiatives
Assist with schedule tracking and status reporting for process-related workstreams

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in business process improvement or operational excellence roles
Proven experience leading enterprise-level process transformation initiatives
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent advanced process improvement certification)
Strong facilitation experience leading large, cross-functional groups

Demonstrated ability to perform:

Current and future-state process mapping
Cycle time analysis
Value stream mapping
Pain point analysis
Experience managing process scope, schedule alignment, and stakeholder communications

Advanced proficiency with:

Visio
PowerPoint
Excel
Word
Microsoft Teams
Strong written documentation and executive-level presentation skills
Self-starter with the ability to operate independently in complex, matrixed environments

Preferred Qualifications:

Utility industry experience (Electric and/or Gas Operations)
Experience supporting field operations or asset management processes
Familiarity with SAP Work Manager, SAP Asset Manager, or similar field service/asset management platforms (process alignment only – no configuration required)
Experience supporting large-scale technology modernization or system replacement programs
Background working within regulated environments
