Job Title: Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Glasgow

Work Mode: On-site – 5 days per week

Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join the Software Engineering team and contribute to a major delivery unit project. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering teams to design, build, test, and deploy scalable cloud application solutions that integrate both cloud and non-cloud infrastructure.

You will play a key role in building reliable cloud environments, validating architecture designs, and ensuring high levels of security, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and deploy cloud-based application solutions integrating cloud and non-cloud infrastructure.
Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure and platform environments.
Develop proofs of architecture to validate architecture feasibility, security, and performance.
Collaborate with multiple teams to deliver robust and scalable cloud solutions.
Act as a subject matter expert within the engineering team.
Support and contribute to technical and architectural decision-making.
Identify and implement improvements in cloud architecture and platform efficiency.
Ensure seamless integration of cloud services with existing systems.
Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.
Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Strong experience
Google App Engine (GAE) – Advanced proficiency
Python – Advanced proficiency
Terraform – Intermediate to advanced proficiency
Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Platform Architecture
Experience with Google Cloud Storage
Experience designing and implementing scalable cloud solutions

Preferred Skills

Experience in cloud architecture design and deployment
Ability to work in cross-functional and collaborative environments
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Based in Glasgow
