About the job
Akkodis is seeking an Engineering Technician / NPI Technician for a 6-month contract role based in Santa Clara, CA. This role will support prototype builds, pilot runs, and engineering trials for new product introductions in a medical device manufacturing environment.
To be considered, candidates should have hands-on experience working with manufacturing equipment, prototype builds, and process troubleshooting. Experience supporting equipment setup, validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), and engineering change implementations is highly preferred.
Pay Range: $28/hr – $33/hr on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Engineering Technician responsibilities include:
Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and engineering trials during new product introduction (NPI) activities
Assist with equipment setup, tooling changes, and process adjustments for new product builds
Execute IQ/OQ/PQ validation tasks under engineering guidance
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation issues
Support equipment setup, changeovers, and calibration activities
Document trial results, deviations, and process observations accurately
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams during product transfer
Assist with implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Troubleshoot early-stage process or equipment issues during NPI runs
Required Skills & Experience
2–4 years of experience working as an engineering technician, manufacturing technician, or equipment technician
Experience supporting manufacturing equipment and engineering builds
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic systems
Experience working in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting prototype builds or NPI activities
Exposure to IQ/OQ/PQ validation processes
Experience working with manufacturing process equipment and tooling
