Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Glasgow

Working Pattern: 5 days per week on site

Contract Rate: £400 per day

Experience Required: 3–8 years

Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join a growing technology team based in Glasgow, supporting cloud platform delivery across enterprise-scale environments. This role is suited to someone with solid cloud engineering capability who can work across infrastructure deployment, automation, and cloud platform optimisation within a fast-paced delivery environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on experience across cloud infrastructure, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code, with the ability to support platform design, deployment, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure across modern platform environments
Deploy and manage cloud services with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and security
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Support automation of operational and deployment tasks using Python
Work closely with technical teams to improve platform performance and delivery standards
Troubleshoot cloud platform issues and support ongoing optimisation
Contribute to technical decisions around cloud architecture and deployment patterns
Ensure environments are aligned to security and operational best practice

Required Skills

Strong experience with Google Cloud
Good hands-on Python scripting capability
Strong Terraform experience
Cloud infrastructure deployment and support experience
Ability to work across engineering teams in a delivery-led environment
Comfortable operating in an on-site, collaborative project setting

Ideal Background

3–8 years’ cloud engineering experience
Experience working in enterprise or project-led technical environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
Exposure to infrastructure automation and cloud platform engineering best practice
