Senior SRE / DevOps Engineer - Investment Banking - London
We’re hiring a Senior Site Reliability / DevOps Engineer to join a major production management transformation programme within a global investment bank. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, reliability, and operational excellence, helping modernise how critical banking systems are built, deployed, and operated.
You’ll play a key role in establishing engineering best practices, automation, and DevOps culture across a complex, highly regulated technology landscape supporting mission-critical financial platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead engineering efforts across production management and reliability platforms
Drive automation, CI/CD, and Continuous Delivery practices across critical applications
Improve incident management, problem management, and operational efficiency
Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning to increase system resilience
Champion DevOps, SRE, and Agile best practices across engineering teams
Mentor engineers and promote a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability
Work closely with global teams across onshore, nearshore, and offshore environments
Communicate technical progress and project status with senior stakeholders
Experience
Strong experience in SRE, DevOps, or Production Engineering roles
Deep understanding of software engineering principles and SDLC
Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, applications, and databases
Experience operating high-availability, large-scale distributed systems
Strong experience with: Kubernetes, Programming (Python, Java, or similar), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling
Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum or Kanban)
