Job Title: Enterprise Architect

Overview

Morson Edge is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a federal government department responsible for addressing a wide range of environmental issues across Canada. The organization plays a key role in environmental protection through initiatives such as the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change, science-based research, regulatory development, and enforcement of environmental legislation.

The department delivers numerous digital services to Canadians and continues to modernize its platforms to meet expectations for secure, user-friendly, and high-quality online services. As part of this modernization effort, the organization is expanding its Enterprise Architecture capabilities to support enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Enterprise Architect will provide strategic architecture leadership and guidance across multiple programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

Define and develop Business, Information, Application, and Technology Architectures to support new and existing program initiatives.
Develop enterprise architecture strategies, visions, and transformation roadmaps for digital and business transformation initiatives.
Provide architectural guidance to improve business models, processes, governance structures, and technology solutions.
Deliver an enterprise-wide perspective on architectural changes and modernization initiatives.
Research and analyze practices from other federal departments and regulatory agencies to identify best practices and lessons learned.
Align proposed architectures with industry standards, government frameworks, and enterprise architecture best practices.
Review and develop Cloud and SaaS solution architectures, including assessments and recommendations.
Identify opportunities to improve program operations through technology enablement and architectural improvements.
Establish governance frameworks and controls to support the successful adoption of new architectural components.
Define performance measures, critical success factors, and evaluation criteria for transformation initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

Enhanced Security Clearance with the Government of Canada.
Minimum 120 months (10 years) of experience as an Enterprise Architect, with project references lasting 6 months or longer.
Minimum 60 months (5 years) of experience working with the Federal Government of Canada.
Minimum 60 months (5 years) advising clients on Cloud or SaaS solutions, including:
Validating migration to Cloud/SaaS environments
Assessing risks, benefits, and limitations of Cloud/SaaS solutions
Evaluating service level requirements
Minimum 60 months (5 years) delivering enterprise-wide services, defined as initiatives impacting two or more programs or services within the same federal organization.
Minimum 60 months (5 years) developing service and transformation roadmaps, including:
Initiative sequencing
Dependencies
Leveraged investments
Constraints
Critical success factors

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
