Assistant Commercial Manager

Client: BAE Systems

Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth

Clearance: UK Eyes Only

Contract: 6 months (Maternity Cover)

Rate: £28.59 PAYE or £38.42 Umbrella

Working Pattern: 2 days per week — Thursday plus either Tuesday or Wednesday

BAE Systems is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Commercial Manager to join the Simulation & Training team. This role supports the delivery of key commercial activities and the preparation of high-quality bid and control materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Support commercial activities within the Simulation & Training business area
Prepare bid documentation, commercial packs, and control materials
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and timely submissions
Provide commercial support as required to cover maternity leave within the team

Who We’re Looking For:

Numerous years as an Assistant Commercial Manager.
Previous exposure to bid preparation or bid management (nice to have, not essential)
Someone organised, confident with documentation, and comfortable working within a structured commercial environment.
A strong communicator who can collaborate effectively and manage deadlines.
