Job Description:

Airswift is looking for: Project Controls Advisor III

Location: Quarry Park, AB

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Duration: 1-year contract

MAIN FUNCTIONS

The Project Advisor is an expert in Project Controls, Planning and Scheduling and Project Services and provides their expertise to projects as needed, supports the Project Controls Supervisor in updating tools and processes; assists with training and mentoring of less experienced group members.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors or master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management

• Experience in Project Services, Project Controls and Planning

• Previous supervisory experience preferred

• Multiple international project assignments

• Willing to travel to required project sites (overseas or domestic) and work in a team environment

• Knowledgeable with project management best practices framework and key work processes

• Demonstrated leadership skills

• Strong organizational, business, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical and computing skills

• Competent or Expert proficiency in several Project Management skills, project controls, execution planning, contracting strategy, contract administration, cost estimating, planning & scheduling)

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to Level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, Level 3:

• Collect and input project data (cost, schedule, progress) into control systems.

• Assist in preparing basic reports (cost summaries, schedule updates).

• Maintain document control and ensure compliance with project standards.

• Support change management by logging approved changes.

• Monitor timesheets and simple cost tracking.

• Learn and apply company tools and processes under supervision.

• Develop and maintain project schedules using planning tools.

• Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses.

• Track commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.

• Assist in risk analysis and mitigation planning.

• Coordinate with procurement and contracts teams for cost alignment.

• Provide guidance to Level 1 staff and review their work for accuracy.

• Establishes and maintains interfaces with key stakeholders of the projects, and provides accurate and timely Project Controls reports.

• May provide mentoring of less experienced Project Controls staff.

• Produces or oversees production of cost reports detailing budgets, approved changes, commitments, and forecasts from available information and historical trend analysis
