TRADE ANALYST

Location: Toronto, Ontario (In-Office)

Our client, a Canadian firm specializing in investment management and multi-family office services, is seeking a Trade Analyst to support its investment operations and trading activities across multiple asset classes.

This position ensures that trades are executed accurately, reconciled efficiently, and aligned with the firm’s standards of precision and excellence. Working closely with portfolio managers and the operations team, the Trade Analyst contributes to the smooth functioning of pre- and post-trade processes, trade data integrity, and risk control. Key Responsibilities:

Monitor trade execution and ensure the accuracy of trade bookings across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
Perform daily trade reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with custodians, brokers, and internal teams.
Support portfolio managers in pre- and post-trade analytics, pricing validation, exposure reporting, and P&L attribution.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trading and performance reports for internal stakeholders.
Maintain and improve trade data accuracy across portfolio and order management systems.
Assist with compliance checks, risk monitoring related to investment guidelines, and regulatory reporting.
Collaborate with the operations team and contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.
Support audit and regulatory reporting requirements as needed.
Stay informed on market developments, trading tools, and relevant regulations that impact trading operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field.
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course with the Canadian Securities Institute.
Registered or eligible for registration as an Associate Advising Representative (AAR) with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) strongly preferred.
Working towards or completion of a CIM and CFA designation considered a strong asset.
1–3 years of experience in investment operations, trade support, or an analytical role within a financial institution, asset manager, or bank.
Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, and alternatives) and trade lifecycle processes.
Advanced proficiency in Excel.
Familiarity with Bloomberg, portfolio management systems, or OMS platforms is an asset.
Excellent analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail under tight timelines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Programming skills (Python, SQL, or VBA) considered an asset.
Working knowledge of securities regulations and compliance procedures is preferred .
