CAN – Business Analyst (HR Systems / Test Lead) (Contract)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 18 months
Extension: Possible (based on business needs and performance)
Conversion: Possible (strong candidates may convert earlier)
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (37.5 hrs/week); some meetings as early as 8:00 AM
Location: Hybrid – Waterloo, ON or Toronto, ON (3 days onsite/week)
Overtime: Occasional evening calls (global stakeholders)
Role Overview
Seeking Business Analysts to support HR Systems initiatives, enhancements, and BAU within a global PeopleComms Technology team. This role combines business analysis and test leadership, including requirements elicitation, test strategy development, execution oversight, UAT coordination, and defect triage for HR technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery and document business requirements, acceptance criteria, and process flows
Define and manage test strategy, plans, suites, and traceability (RTM)
Coordinate testing across system, integration, UAT, and release/regression cycles
Lead UAT planning, execution, triage, sign-off, and hypercare support
Run defect triage and publish quality metrics and status reporting
Coordinate non-functional testing activities (accessibility, performance, security/privacy)
Support release readiness and continuous improvement of templates/playbooks
Required Qualifications
3+ years as a Business Systems Analyst / HR Systems Analyst supporting HR technology
Strong HR domain knowledge (e.g., talent, recruiting, onboarding, time/absence)
Experience with Workday and/or ServiceNow HRSD
Hands-on Test Lead experience (strategy, execution oversight, defect management)
Knowledge of SDLC (Agile/Waterfall) and testing methodologies
Experience with test/defect tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray/Test Plans)
Strong facilitation and communication skills; comfortable leading workshops, UAT, and triage sessions
Awareness of HR data privacy and compliance considerations
Nice to Have
Human Centered Design exposure
CHRP/CHRL, PMP, or related credentials
Experience supporting global stakeholder groups and vendor teams
Configuration or coding experience
