Location: Fully remote (Manchester, UK)

Reporting to: Managing Director

Role type: Full-time

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 + uncapped commission (dependent on experience)

We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR/SDR) to focus outbound capability as we continue to grow our professional services and training business.

The primary responsibilities include identifying and generating new business leads, managing a sales pipeline, and nurturing client relationships. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate and present solutions aligned with client needs, contribute to revenue growth, conduct market research, and collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategic initiatives. This role requires proactive engagement with prospects and clients to achieve sales targets while promoting Symposium IT’s values and solutions.

Responsibilities:

Outbound & Lead Generation

Proactively identify and engage new prospects via:
Client mapping
Cold calling
LinkedIn outreach
Targeted outbound email sequences
Work against defined ICPs and messaging frameworks
Maintain high, consistent activity levels
Run initial discovery conversations to understand:
The prospect’s requirements
High-level challenges
Timing and urgency
Qualify opportunities & Book meetings for senior stakeholders to progress
Work closely with senior sales, delivery & technical teams
Sit in on follow-up calls to learn how opportunities are shaped and closed

CRM & Reporting

Maintain accurate CRM records
Track activity, conversations, and outcomes
Feedback market insight, objections, and messaging performance

Experience & Attributes:

Previous outbound or high-activity sales experience
Comfortable with cold calling and rejection
Exposure to full sales cycles is a plus, but not required
2+ years in a previous IT or Technology Sales role a big plus
Highly coachable and metrics-driven
Confident communicator, curious and comfortable asking questions
Resilient and self-motivated
Interested in building a long-term sales career
