About This Opportunity
The Deployment Planner is responsible for ensuring the optimal levels of product supply in the regional Sales Centers in accordance with target inventory levels. The planner is also responsible for building optimal loads that support transportation’s routing guide matrix, as well as being responsible for inventory status communication, reporting on out of stock (OOS) risk or potential shelf life risk. The Deployment Planner directly reports to the Planning Manager.
***This is for a 12month contract***
Responsibilities
Create a detailed plan for transportation of nished goods transfer orders within the region
Coordinate the schedules with Transportation department taking into consideration all external factors (warehouse resources for receiving/dispatch, availability of transportation and quantities of nished goods)
Create quarantine shipments (changes of warehouses in the transportation orders and , if necessary, designation of quarantine storage sites)
Create schedules of outbound deliveries in accordance with existing standard operating procedures.
Identify potential risks of OOS situations and develops action plans to avoid them, in accordance with the established service standards for each category
If necessary, manually create transportation/ shipment orders
Monitor and verify the compliance and execution of the daily deployment plans (by tracking not completed past orders). All discrepancies should be taken into consideration to be avoided in the future.
Risk management for slow-selling SKU / write-os of obsolete inventory, and development of measures to avoid possible write-os in the future (age optimization of products)
Identify and revise limitations on transport resources
Act as a main liaison between Planning Department, the Sales Centers, and Transportation Department
Support the Regional Planning manager in preparation of the annual business plan
Complete and maintain all the required paperwork in accordance with company guidelines
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Technology, Logistics, Business or Engineering
At least 2+ years of supply planning/logistics experience but would consider less for someone who is passionate about and wants to grow their career in Supply Chain
Understanding of Planning processes in Supply Chain
Knowledge of logistics processes
Good working knowledge of Supply Management methods and policies
Ability to work within a large team environment
Preferred experience working in an ERP (Enterprise resource planning) environment, ideally SAP and/or Blue Yonder
