Hardware Deployment Engineer (Contract)-3 Months-Sheffield

I'm currently looking for a hands-on Hardware Deployment Engineer for a contract role supporting a large-scale laptop upgrade and refresh project. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced IT environment and play a key role in delivering critical hardware improvements to end users.

Role Overview

As a Hardware Deployment Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, upgrading, configuring, and supporting laptops across the organisation. You will ensure devices are built, tested, and delivered to users efficiently while maintaining high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy and upgrade laptops as part of a structured refresh programme

Perform hardware installations, imaging, and configuration

Migrate user data and profiles

Troubleshoot hardware and basic software issues

Asset tagging and inventory management

Provide face-to-face user support during device handovers

Document deployment activities and update ticketing systems

Follow security and compliance procedures during deployment

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in laptop/desktop deployment projects

Strong hardware troubleshooting skills

Experience with Windows 10/11 builds and device imaging

Familiarity with Active Directory and basic networking

Experience using ITSM/ticketing tools

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and meet rollout targets
